Making Good Health Our Reality. Faster.
It is known that 85% of all clinical trials are completed with delay, and that this will have a significant impact on the study budget. However, this is only one side of the coin. Besides the implications on clinical trial budget, any delay in bringing a study drug to the market will also mean that it will be delivered to the patients later. Therefore, someone’s mother, partner, child, niece, friend, neighbor, will not be able to receive medication that could save, or prolong their life, or make life with certain diseases bearable.
We all can think of at least one disease that was, not so long ago, considered deadly or incurable, but is now eradicated or appears only sporadically. One of them is tuberculosis. It was responsible for nearly 25% of deaths in Europe in 1800s.The only treatment was surgical intervention until 1946, when the development of the antibiotic streptomycin made an effective treatment and cure of tuberculosis a reality. Honoré de Balzac (1799-1850), Anne Brontë (1820-1849), Emily Brontë (1818-1848), Anton Chekhov (1860-1904), Stephen Crane (1871-1900), Albert Camus (1913-1960), Franz Kafka (1883-1924) are only a few of the people who died or suffered from this disease, that is now curable. Can you imagine how many lives could have been saved, and what our culture would be like now, if streptomycin had been discovered earlier?
Every human being is valuable and deserves to live in good health. We want to be a solid support to companies dedicated to improving human health, and in this way, be a part of the group of people who are making good health reality. Many diseases are waiting to be cured, and many children are waiting for the treatment of their disease to be discovered. We want to help this happen faster.
